If you think you are an exception to the plan (example: you are a hard working athlete that requires more calories to exercise), research why and describe the differences you believe should exist between your eating plan and the MyPlate Plan. Once this step is complete, continue on with the Health journal assignment as detailed below.

STEP 5) Using your MyPlate 1 page paper as a foundation for change, record your detailed goals for diet, emotional challenges, and exercise to provide a benchmark for behavior modification daily. Put some detail to this that is measurable, like, “Aerobic activity like running, swimming for 45 minutes a day, 5 days a week”, “include 2 servings of fruit and 3 servings of vegetables per day”, etc. You should have at least one journal long specific goal in each goal setting section which you check in on daily (e.g. my goal is to lose 5 pounds—each day you log your weight as well as loss/gain, as well as daily goals like: create a calendar for my class for when I will complete projects—this will reduce procrastination and stress).

STEP 7) The final section to input is an evaluation of your Health Journal and behavior change modification. In the goal summary section, evaluate your goals in measurable detail.
