This question will serve as the foundation for an argument of an issue in early education or of your choosing (email me regarding your topic)
The student will make a claim and then argue their point of view linearly, step-by-step, with appropriate transitions revealing the logic that ties one point to the next.
The student’s claim must be meticulously considered, the evidence thoroughly researched and carefully selected to provide reasons to the support conclusions they come to in their discussion.
The claim must be arguable: A disagreement or a number of legitimate points of view must exist regarding the claim. If everyone in the audience is in agreement there really isn’t anything to argue over.
The argument must be rational: An argument must be based in fact not emotion.
Finally, credit must be given where credit is due: All outside sources must be documented (e.g., footnotes, endnotes, and in-text citations) using APA style referencing.
The paper will be 2500 words in length (approximately 10 pages double spaced, 12 pt. font).
Use headings throughout your paper as an organization strategy.
