10 tips for writing a great paper by Chegg 9_2020.docx
This video offers a great snapshot of 3 major interpersonal relationship theories. These theories apply to new and old relationships, friendship and family relationships as well as the relationships we are not focusing on in this class, romantic relationships. Please watch the video and consider applying these theories and/or looking for others that may work for your Individual Relationships paper.

Students will apply HDFS333 questions and observations to their relationships (Objective: integrate objective information and self reflection).
For this assignment we will be looking at our relationships since March 2020
For example relationships that have experienced some level change and relationships that have experienced relatively little change. This is not to be a romantic relationship.
We will apply questions and observations in synch with the topics students have been journaling for several weeks.
These will be noted in a personal journal over that time – please use insights from your journal.
In writing your paper consider relationship opportunities and challenges.
At the beginning of November, students will submit a 1000-1250 word paper contrasting a relationship that has remained relatively stable over the last 9-10 months and a relationship that has changed. The relationship of these changes to the COVID-19 pandemic and it’s impact on our abilities to travel, communicate in person, engage in social activities, etc. should be considered in as part of the paper. In the paper students will compare the changes they have journaled….for example, your perspective on why did you or why did you not get closer, what kind of things did you talk about – what kind of conversations did you avoid, how did you grow closer or further apart in the relationships, etc.
Compare your observations with what you have learned from the readings and lectures – apply some of the theories and concepts we have covered such as relationship stresses, connection, communication, vulnerability, avoidance, preconceived notions and realities, etc.
Read the attached article “10 Tips…” and pay attention to the (DLH) prompts
