For this assignment you are going to use the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum website to learn about the history of anti-Semitism (anti-Jewish) and the persecution these people faced even before the holocaust. The readings all come from the USHMM but there will also be additional resources you may wish to use that come from a variety of sources. These are optional readings to help you get more detailed information to help you with the assignment.
You will use this information, along with what you’ve learned in this unit regarding human development, to create a children’s story explaining the Jewish faith and their history of persecution. Your book can be hand-made (pictures must be taken and submitted) or it can be made using Google Slides.
Your book should include the following:
10 pages of content (4 points)
3-5 pictures (no more than ½ page in size each.) (5 points)
An explanation of the Jewish religion (5 points)
Explanation of what causes anti-Semitism (5 points)
At least 8 specific references to anti-Semitic events or persecution (2 points each)
Written in such a way that a 4-8 year old could understand the concepts: Language, length of sentences, effective storytelling, a plot a child could follow, etc. (20 points)
