Lead and crime

REALLY BIG HINTS from Professor Costley for your third Journal:

You’ve got this! Make sure you read carefully and respond to each Thematic Connection Question and support your answers. For example, Q2 is asking for YOUR ideas for “other causes” — not for you to simple restate what the writer includes in the article.
Again, an essay is NOT required—a thoughtful response typed under each TC Question on your page works for me!

Directions: Carefully read and evaluate the arguments, evidence, and ideas presented in this controversial article. Responding to the Thematic Connection questions requires equally careful reading of the directions. Your opinion is important. Your ability to investigate and provide OTHER evidence is vital–not simply restate the author’s ideas. What are YOUR ideas? Showing your knowledge of the types of evidence is crucial. Make sure that you express your ideas and opinions with specific supporting quotes or details from the article.

Write a total of 5 paragraphs in response to ALL THREE Thematic Connections Questions (TCQ) that show critical thinking writing. Your first paragraph should be a summary of the article, with a citation of the author and title. This journal requires you to evaluate and support with evidence (details) your own ideas and opinions, not simply re-state the author’s statements. Your response must include the author’s thesis–the argument presented–and a brief summary of the key points of the argument and a response with supporting details to all parts of each of the TCQs question. Typing the questions on your paper may help ensure you answer all parts of each question.
